The Bradford Cover & Twine Company made its first awning in 1963 at the request of a local haulage contractor, and exhibited at the Earls Court Show in 1965. Its product proved popular, and production continued to rise to meet demand throughout the late 60's and early 70's, when Martin Fawcett, the current owner of the business, was asked to step in and look after the awning division

By 1981 sales were over 1,000 units a year and new factory premises were sought in which to house the division (the site currently occupied by Bradcot).

In 1983 Martin Fawcett acquired the entire awning division and introduced the first acrylic awning to the UK market.

In 1987 Bradcot introduced a glass fibre frame to its range.

In 1989 Bradcot acquired Salou Awnings in Salisbury, Wiltshire.

In 1990 the Bradcot factory extended from 5,000 to 11,000 sq.ft, and in 1997 the factory extended again to its current size to accommodate a major investment in new plant and machinery.

In 1999 the "Easy System" frame was introduced, and our dedicated Customer Care department was started.

2002 - Bradcot currently produce between 10,000 and 12,000 awnings each year. A new 4000+ squ ft Office and Trade Showroom building is currently under construction to make space for additional production within the factory premises.
